Ashoka Centre for Economic Policy (ACEP)
A voice which asks important questions for India and the world

While there are some accomplished individuals and selected institutions doing good research within India, few speak to the broader development issues. It is also the case that many even lack the self-confidence to ask big and bold questions. On the other hand, respected and reputed international academic institutions tend to accord primacy to statistical rigor (including “casual inference”) and often fail to ask and address the most important questions, at least those facing India. Keeping this context in mind, ACEP aims to do the following: 1. Become the voice which asks important questions for India and the world 2. Become a model for other universities and institutions within India that have the talent but lack the exposure, opportunity and confidence to produce high quality knowledge. 3. Become a knowledge hub and platform that would bring together and coordinate with academic and policy centres around the world.
