SUMMARY:Bruhat-Tits theory over a smooth higher dimensional base
DESCRIPTION:Abstract:  \nWe report on a joint-work with Vikraman Balaji. It addresses the following question: \nLet $G$ be an almost simple\, split\, simply-connected Chevalley group scheme over $\\mathbb{Z}$. \nLet $\\mathbb{A}^\\circ$ denote the complement of the "axes" in $\\mathbb{A}^n_{_k}$. \nLet $U$ be the union of $\\mathbb{A}^\\circ$ with $Spec$ of DVRs which are the local rings at the generic points of the axes in $\\mathbb{A}^n_{_k}$. \nGiven BT group schemes adapted to the axes divisors of $\\mathbb{A}^n_{_k}$\, \nwe glue them with $G \\times \\mathbb{A}^\\circ$ to get a group scheme on $U$. \nDoes it extend to the whole space $\\mathbb{A}^n_{_k}$ as a flat group scheme? \nAbout the Speaker: \n Dr. Yashonidhi Pandey is a mathematician working at IISER Mohali. He specializes in algebraic geometry. He studied at the Chennai Mathematical Institute\, Ecole Normale Superieure at Rue d'Ulm and Universite Montpelier -2. Last year he spent his sabbatical at TIFR Mumbai. His hobbies are physical sports and reading fiction.
