DESCRIPTION:Zoom Link: https://zoom.us/j/93757316698?pwd=mxmVMzLEwcatObZ33J22ybdCkPgKD0.1 \nAbstract: Emotion perception constitutes one of the fundamental aspects of human interaction\, facilitated by the accurate processing of facial expressions. Pupil diameter typically regulates the amount of light entering the eye via pupillary light reflex (PLR)\, a reflexive constriction or dilation of pupil in response to light and dark light\, respectively. It has been suggested that LC (Locus Coeruleus)\, a brain stem region intricately linked to emotion perception (Pessoa\, 2017) also contributes to the regulation of pupil diameter. LC also plays a significant role in attention via neurotransmitter norepinephrine (NE)\, represented as LC-NE system. However\, an underexplored aspect is the potential relationship between pupil diameter\, attention\, and emotion perception. We investigated the quantitative relationship between emotion perception and pupil diameter through an emotion detection task. The results unveil an association between pupil diameter and emotion perception\, presenting a comprehensive understanding of the interplay between attention and emotion perception. \nAbout the Speaker: \nDr. Sonia Baloni Ray \n(Asst.
