Event Details

While science academia claims to be based solely on objectivity, intelligence and capability, the truth is far from this. Science does not happen in vacuum, and its practitioners exist in society and bring social biases and discrimination into science practice. A quick look around in Indian science academia reveals the severe lack of marginalized people. TheLifeofScience.com is a feminist multimedia science collective that uses tools of science communication and journalism to identify, highlight and fill these gaps.
In this workshop, Sayantan Datta was in conversation with Senior Writing Fellow Poulomi Das, about some of the studies of TheLifeofScience.com on Indian science practice that reveal the glaring loss of marginalized people in Indian science academia.
