Event Details

The Centre for Writing and Communication is glad to invite you to its workshop Writing Effective RTI Applications on 16.11.2021 (Tuesday) from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM

Writing Right to Information (RTI) applications is supposed to be a simple and effective way of asking the state for information one needs. But, writing RTI applications is not a simple job, afterall. A vaguely framed question, a missing detail, an absence of a time/ location frame can lead to an answer which makes no sense to the applicant but allows the state machinery to produce a (non-) answer and be done with their part. This workshop aims at initiating a discussion on how to write RTI applications that ensure answers from the state machinery or, how to avoid getting non-answers from the state in one’s RTI application. The workshop will discuss the ways and techniques through which one can ask meaningful and pointed questions in their RTI applications and increase their chances of getting the response (and the information) they are looking for.

The Workshop is open to all. Registration will close at 5 PM, 15th November 2021.  https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1eAvyAjiUIUBpn3X928BqKlc_tGMGM3dgj2qtJEAmiec/editRTI Workshop (1)

The workshop was well attended with over 100 participants.
