About the Speaker:
Dr. Anusha Shrivastava is a higher education professional, responsible for relationship-building. As the Director of Alumni Relations at Columbia University’s Journalism School, Dr. Shrivastava designs and directs the alumni relations program, overseeing connections among the school’s 12,000+ alumni, stationed all over the globe.
With a strong track record in training students and handling alumni relations, Dr. Shrivastava has spent the previous six years at Columbia’s Statistics department, the largest in the U.S. with over 700 students. As a lecturer, Dr. Shrivastava has taught a course on professional development, covering topics including digital presence, negotiation and mentoring. To recruit students, Dr. Shrivastava has traveled overseas and helped organize virtual admissions events. Heading the team that edited graduate students’ resumes and cover letters, Dr. Shrivastava has organized more than 60 events a semester, including mock interview sessions, alumni panels and employer meetings.
For over 20 years, Dr. Shrivastava was a business reporter in television, print and newswires in the U.S., Canada and India. Most recently, Dr. Shrivastava was at The Wall Street Journal/Dow Jones in New York, where Dr. Shrivastava covered global foreign exchange and credit markets.
