FutureSkill: Writing & Communication | Crafting YOUR Story for Success

Every good story about yourself starts with who you are. This certified, live, interactive course over 4 weekends, takes you through the 3 stages of building your own, unique story for success. Starting with self-discovery, we deep dive into the process of finding what is powerfully YOU. The second stage is self-expression, where you will learn to craft your story in YOUR unique voice. The third stage is writing your story for success, whether for your college essay, your SoP or your social media profiles.

This course is designed for high schoolers (Grades 9-12), as they set out to build their own life story. Embark with us on this journey of portraying the best version of yourself, for success.

16 Live Teaching Hours over 4 weekends (11AM- 1PM on Saturdays & Sundays).

Includes writing workshops & feedback sessions. Self-study hours ~ 5 hours during the course.

  • High schoolers studying in grades 9- 12 as on the course commencement date in Dec 2023.
    Students from India and abroad can apply.

Who is this course for?

This course is for high schoolers who are in the critical phase of building a powerful personal narrative for their college applications, group discussions and their profiles across social media platforms.

Prerequisites: High level of proficiency in written and verbal English communication. You will be required to submit your latest marksheet in the application form.

Grading, Assessments & Certification

All Ashoka Horizons courses offer a certificate on satisfactory completion of the course. The 3 components of student assessment are-

  1. Essay evaluation (50%)
  2. Class participation & in class assessment (20%)
  3. Graded short writing assignments (30%)

Class participation will be assessed based on your active engagement in live sessions, contributions to discussion forums, and involvement in Teaching Fellow-led activities.

IT Requirements

This course is administered through an online platform. Students are expected to have a foundational understanding of computer usage, including but not limited to sending emails and conducting Internet searches. Consistent access to the Internet and a computer that aligns with the recommended minimum specifications are also requisite for participation in the course.
