Ajay Desai is an independent Artist living and working in Delhi. He studied at the M.S.University of Baroda and at the Royal College of Art, London.
Since the late 1980s he has held several solo shows of his work at well known galleries such as Sakshi Gallery in Bombay and Nature Morte in Delhi. He has also participated in many major group shows both in and outside India, such as ‘Edge of the century’, New Delhi, and ‘Indian Summer’ at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris.
He was a founder member, and first co-ordinator of KHOJ, an independent Artist-run initiative that promotes inter-cultural exchange in the Visual Arts. He has over the years, taught at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad; the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology, Ahmedabad; The School of Planning and Architecture,Delhi and at NIFT, Delhi. His work has been represented at The India Art fair over many years, and is to be showcased at the Kochi Muziris Biennalle, 2018.
