Akansha Singh

Akanksha completed her bachelor’s in Arts, from University of Delhi (2017) and master’s in Indian Medieval History from Centre for Historical Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (2019). Her current research interest lies in studying the histories of medieval and early-modern South Asia. Her research focuses on the people’s history of the Afghans from the late-16th to 18th centuries, interested in issues pertaining to Kingship, warfare, migration and mobility, ecology and environment, political culture, and socio-economic processes. Besides this, her interest also lies in studying the interrelations between literary narratives and political power, examining the accounts of myths, legends, and genealogies to explore the fashioning and re-fashioning of the identity, legitimacy, and sovereignty.
