Ph.D. Kiel UniversityMalavi obtained her PhD from the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology in Ploen, Germany, where she worked on the MHC genomic region of the Three-spined Stickleback. She went on to work as a postdoctoral fellow at Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey, where she studied saline-alkaline adaptation in the Lake Van Pearl Mullet. She is interested in the genomics of adaptation to various natural environments, and in the genomics of speciation caused by ecological factors.
