Nitin Sethi is a journalist. He co-foundedĀ The Reporters’ Collective, a collaborative that focuses on investigative and deep-dive journalism on the intersection of governance, rights and the political economy. It publishes its work in different languages and formats. He is a partner atĀ Land Conflict Watch, an interdisciplinary research group of lawyers, researchers and writers who research and analyse land and resource conflicts across the country. They maintain the largest database of such on-going land conflicts with attendant legal and research documentation. Nitin is also the Media Lead atĀ National Foundation for India. At NFI he heads a media fellowship program which supports more than 100 independent journalists annually in different Indian languages and formats.
Earlier, over more than two decades, he has held senior editorial positions at different media organisations, including The Times of India, The Hindu, Business Standard, Scroll.in and Down To Earth magazine. During this period he wrote and investigated a diverse range of issues including, environment and development, climate change, public finance, India’s northeastern states and the Indian political economy.Ā
