  • What & How?

    YSP EPG Advanced (YSP Foundation Programme  + YSP Economics, Policy, and Governance is a certified, immersive two-week residential programme tailored for ambitious high school students entering grades 9, 10, 11, and 12. The programme is designed to build a strong foundation in Liberal Arts & Sciences while providing in-depth exposure to the intersecting fields of economics, policy, and governance. Combining theoretical insights with hands-on experiences, YSP EPG Advanced (YSP FP + YSP EPG) emphasizes 21st-century skills and critical thinking to prepare students for impactful careers in a rapidly evolving global landscape.

    YSP EPG Advanced (YSP Foundation Programme + YSP Economics, Policy, and Governance) is a two-week programme to be held in person at Ashoka Campus.

    Programme Dates

    May 19 – May 30, 2025 (Session 1) OR June 2 – June 13, 2025 (Session 2)

    (Students have the opportunity to stay on Ashoka campus for the intervening weekend between the two weeks. They will attend insightful workshops, fun activities, documentary screening and sports sessions during the weekend.)

    Both editions offer the same transformative learning experience, allowing you to select the dates that work best for you.

    Delve into what makes the world around us as you explore the building blocks of the life you inhabit. In the YSP EPG Advanced (YSP FP + YSP EPG) students will explore the vast expanse of economics, from microeconomic principles like Supply and Demand, to macroeconomic concepts such as Inflation, Fiscal Policy, and Global Trade. Sample topics include The Role of Government in Economic Development, where students will examine how fiscal and monetary policies influence national growth; Public Policy and Social Equity, exploring how policies can address inequalities in education, health, and income distribution; Global Governance and Climate Change, analyzing international collaborations on environmental challenges; and Data-Driven Policy-Making, where students will learn how to use data analysis to inform policy decisions. They will also delve into Behavioral Economics, examining the psychological factors that influence economic decision-making.

    By understanding the multifaceted nature of economics and its interplay with sociology, data analysis, environmental studies, and international relations, students will gain a richer perspective on the complexities of policy-making. Topics such as Sustainability and Economic Growth, Public Policy for Social Equity, and International Relations and Global Governance will ensure that scholars appreciate the interconnectedness of disciplines, fostering critical thinking and innovative approaches to solving societal challenges.

    The two-week residential YSP Advanced (YSP Foundation Programme + YSP Economics, Policy, and Governance) immerses students in interdisciplinary faculty sessions that delve into the complexities of economics, policy-making, governance, and their relationships with social, cultural, and global issues.
    A typical day starts off with faculty-led sessions after which students then find themselves in our workshops which are designed to function as an exciting and interactive space for students to become products of their learnings.

    This experience is enhanced with our guest speakers who share insights from industry practice, equipping students with real-world as well as academic knowledge.

    The day winds down with fun & recreational activities including sports and the performing arts.

  • Why YSP EPG Advanced (YSP FP + YSP EPG)

    Yes, students will be given a certificate on successful completion of the programme, provided all sessions are attended and there has been desirable participation by the student. Upon receipt of your certificate, please save it securely for your use later on, however, if you happen to lose it, a second copy of the certificate will be provided which will be chargeable for a sum of Rs 500/- 

    Attending the programme will give you an insight on liberal arts & sciences education and the Ashoka pedagogy. This will surely help you explore your interests and assist you in submitting the undergraduate application form at Ashoka University. However, this does not guarantee admission to the Ashoka UG programme.

  • Application & Fee

    Rs 85,000/- (all inclusive)

    You need to apply using the respective application form of the programme. 

     

    Fee is inclusive of the programme fee, stationary, resource material, accommodation and meal expenses. 

     

    Yes, need-based financial aid is available.

     

    The financial aid section is available on the online application form. Please visit the application portal to register and receive an application ID. This section can be accessed after filling the first section of the YSP application form. You can then continue to fill in the details required to avail financial aid in the application form and submit the completed application form.

    The application for financial aid is part of the online application to the Young Scholars Programme. Students who apply for aid will have to submit the required documents as mentioned in the form for need-based evaluation of financial aid.

    Refund Policy

    For instance, if the date of the programme commencement is 19th May, then

    if you withdraw between 12th May (Midnight IST)) – 19th May, then 0% of the course fee will be refunded. 

    if you withdraw between 5th May (Midnight IST)  – 11th May (Midnight IST)), then 50% of the course fee will be refunded. 

    if you withdraw between 5th May (Midnight IST))  – 11th May (Midnight IST)), then 50% of the course fee will be refunded. 

    if you withdraw between 28th April (Midnight IST))  – 4th May (Midnight IST)), then 100% of the course fee will be refunded.

  • Eligibility & requirements

    The application will be evaluated on the basis of your academic performance (your mark sheet/s), the essay to be written as part of the application and co-curricular activities. However, we always look for students who are open and curious about learning new things. 

     

    No, students from Grade IX to XII, with any background (not necessarily with any background).

    This year students who are appearing for their Class 12 board examinations in 2025 are eligible.

    Yes, there is a waitlist. Students who are on the waitlist will be informed, and as vacancies open up, they will be contacted for admission.

    Candidates will be notified about the admission decision via their registered email. 

    Yes, all student participants will have to accept terms and conditions that will include:

    • Being responsible and ethical netizens. 
    • Sensitive & committed to learning.
    • No use of offensive language on any platform.
    • The YSP Code of Conduct will be sent to all admitted students who will need to sign before they start the programme.

    YSP is a very engaging programme, attending each session will add value to your learning and knowledge across various topics and also help later in college applications and making informed choices. Hence, attendance and participation are strongly advised for a meaningful experience and to obtain the programme certificate. 

    There will be few parallel sessions running at the same time. For this, students will attend the session based on their interest.

    Faculties from Ashoka University, who are experts in their relevant fields will be the mentors.

  • Residence Life at Ashoka

    Guardian are welcome to drop-off their child but not allowed to stay overnight on campus.

    Yes, you need to have a valid School/Government issued ID card.

     

    The Ashoka Campus houses an Infirmary for basic health care support along with an Ambulance in case of Medical Emergencies.
