The Young Scholars Programme: Psychology, Behaviour, and Well-being (YSP PBW) is designed to provide high school students (entering grades 9-12) with an in-depth exploration of the scientific study of the mind, human behaviour, and the principles of well-being. YSP PBW is an application-based programme designed to introduce students to the intricacies of psychological theories, their real-world applications, the drivers of individual and collective behaviour, and the multifaceted nature of physical and mental well-being. This 5-day programme will take place at Ashoka University campus, Sonipat.
This programme aims to engage students with key concepts from psychology and neuroscience, while also introducing them to practical strategies for enhancing mental health and well-being in their own lives and communities. Students will attend faculty seminars with Ashoka faculty such as Prof Bittu Kaveri Rajaraman, Prof Simi Ghosh and Prof Bhismadev Chakrabarti, pioneers in the field of psychology and neurosciences. They will also attend workshops with leading practitioners such as Dr Arvinder Singh, Reena Gupta and Ashoka Centre for Well–being and gain a refined perspective on the many applications of psychological and neuroscientific theories on physical, emotional and mental well-being.
YSP PBW is a five-day programme to be held in person at Ashoka Campus.

May 19 – May 23, 2025 (Edition 1) OR
June 2 – June 6, 2025 (Edition 2)
Please note: both sessions are the same. They have been scheduled twice due to the busy engagements of high school students during the months of May & June.
In this programme, students will explore a range of fascinating topics that delve into the workings of the mind and behavior. Faculty sessions will cover topics such as Cognitive Processes and Memory, where students will learn how the brain stores and retrieves information; The Science of Emotions, which examines how feelings influence decision-making and relationships; Social Influence and Group Dynamics, exploring how peer pressure and leadership affect behavior; and Positive Psychology and Well-being, offering evidence-based techniques to promote resilience, mindfulness, and overall mental health. Each session is designed to cover both, the theoretical and the applications, providing students with insights they can apply to their own lives.
Yes, students will be given a certificate on successful completion of the programme, provided all sessions are attended and there has been desirable participation by the student. Upon receipt of your certificate, please save it securely for your use later on, however, if you happen to lose it, a second copy of the certificate will be provided which will be chargeable for a sum of INR 500/- Rupees.
Attending the YSP Psychology, Behaviour and Well-Being (PBW) will give you an insight on liberal arts & sciences education and the Ashoka pedagogy, along with a campus tour. This will surely help you explore your interests and assist you in submitting the undergraduate application form at Ashoka University. However, this does not guarantee admission to the Ashoka UG programme.

An application fee of Rs 1000/- has to be paid with the submission of the completed application form. This is non-refundable.
YSP Psychology, Behaviour and Well-Being (PBW) course fee is INR 49,500.
If selected, the student has to pay the full fees to secure their spot.

Yes, need-based financial aid is available.
The financial aid section is available on the online application form. Please visit the application portal to register and receive an application ID. This section can be accessed after filling the first section of the YSP application form. You can then continue to fill in the details required to avail financial aid in the application form and submit the completed application form.
The application for financial aid is part of the online application to the Young Scholars Programme. Students who apply for aid will have to submit the required documents as mentioned in the form for need-based evaluation of financial aid.

The application will be evaluated on the basis of your academic performance (your mark sheet/s), the essay to be written as part of the application and co-curricular activities reflects the same. However, we always look for students who are open and curious about learning new things.

Yes, there is a waitlist. Students who are on the waitlist will be informed, and as vacancies open up, they will be contacted for admission.

YSP Psychology, Behaviour and Well-Being (PBW) is a very engaging programme, attending each session will add value to your learning and knowledge across various topics and also help later in college applications and making informed choices. Hence, attendance and participation are strongly advised for a meaningful experience and to obtain the programme certificate. There will be a few parallel sessions running at the same time. For this, students will attend the session based on their interest.
Faculties from Ashoka University, who are experts in their relevant fields will be teach and conduct workshops at YSP Psychology, Behaviour and Well-Being (PBW). For a few sessions and workshops, we have tie ups with global think tanks, research institutions and other relevant organisations.
Guardian are welcome to drop-off their child but not allowed to stay overnight on campus.
