What are the key components of the Young India Fellowship?

The YIF is designed to provide a well-rounded, holistic learning experience. Its core elements include Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary Courses across diverse fields, Critical Inquiry and Expression (CIE) to hone analytical skills, and an Immersive Experiential Learning Module (ELM) for real-world projects.

What credential will I receive after completion of the Fellowship?

Upon successful completion of the Young India Fellowship, you will be awarded a Post-Graduate Diploma in Interdisciplinary Studies from Ashoka University.

Who is eligible to apply for the Young India Fellowship?

Candidates with a recognised undergraduate degree in any discipline (or equivalent) are eligible to apply, making it a truly multidisciplinary programme. Final-year undergraduate students are also welcome. Work experience is an advantage but not mandatory.

Yusuf studied History as an undergraduate, all the while gravitating towards its interaction with Political Science. He is passionate about how exclusion from ‘development’ is sustained through voicelessness and apathy. His undergraduate dissertation studied the dehumanisation of people engaged in begging in India by the state and society. Singing, acting, and writing make him feel alive, as does tea. His plans for the YIF include going all in and letting life in.
