Young India Fellowship
YIF is Ashoka University’s fully residential one-year multidisciplinary postgraduate diploma programme. First of its kind in India, the Fellowship brings together the brightest students from diverse academic and social backgrounds, who are then guided by distinguished scholars and leaders of our times. They are taught to develop critical thinking and writing skills, understand leadership and group dynamics and get exposure to a wide range of subjects. This transformational experience turns them into problem-solvers and collaborators who are an asset to organisations and society.

Experimental Learning Modules
To complement coursework with real work experience, Fellows learn through the ELM, which is an 8-month long engagement with an organisation on live projects. Taken up by a team of 3-4 Fellows, each team works closely with the top management of an organisation.

This project was initiated by the Chairman’s office at Microsoft, India.  The team of Fellows researched existing smart village models, interacted with potential partners in technology and businesses, and devised a sustainable business model cum plan for developing smart villages in Maharashtra.

Lumis is a private equity fund that takes an active role in growing service businesses. After extensive research on different business models operating in the marketplace, the YIF team developed an investment strategy for Lumis in the emerging Machine to Machine (M2M) and Internet of things (IoT) services space.
