    • Latest CV, which contains educational qualification, experiences (if any), skills, and contact details of at least two referees.
    • Minimum one letter of recommendation from the referees is to be emailed directly to phd.chemistry@ashoka.edu.in in .pdf or .doc format. Files should be named as – ‘Recommendation_<candidate’s name>’.

  • Selection Procedure

The selection to the Ph.D. program in the Department of Chemistry is primarily based on

    1. Qualification in the listed national level examinations such as CSIR-UGC-NET/ GATE/ DST-INSPIRE Fellows (Preferable).

    2. Performance in the written test (not applicable for those qualified NET/ GATE/ DST-INSPIRE etc.) and/or personal interview.

The selection process has two stages

Stage-1: Completed applications are reviewed by the faculty panel and short-listed for the written test and/or personal interview.

Stage-2: Interview will be scheduled in June (tentative dates for the interview will be updated soon).

Once the evaluation is completed, the Coordinator (Chemical Sciences Graduate Program) will forward the list of candidates selected in order of merit (and those waitlisted, if any) to the Ph.D. program to the Dean (Research) for final approval.

    • The final approved list will be displayed on the university website, and the letters of admission (and assistantships, if applicable) will be dispatched by the Office of the Dean (Research), with a copy to the coordinator (Chemical Sciences Ph.D. Program).

    • The entire admissions process (including the dispatch of letters of admission) is to be completed by July. The academic session for Ph.D. students will begin on 1st August 2021.
