Rohit Milind Dongre

Rohit initially trained as a mechanical engineer before his undergraduate experiences led him toward the social sciences. He later earned a Master’s degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University. His research and policy work spans India, Uganda, Costa Rica, and the United States, including voluntary contributions to the World Bank’s Women, Business, and the Law initiative. Through these experiences, he learned that numbers tell only part of the story; human behavior largely determines policy outcomes, which galvanized his interest in how policies can better account for human decision-making. At YIF, he intends to explore such questions via interdisciplinary lenses.
