What are the key components of the Young India Fellowship?

The YIF is designed to provide a well-rounded, holistic learning experience. Its core elements include Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary Courses across diverse fields, Critical Inquiry and Expression (CIE) to hone analytical skills, and an Immersive Experiential Learning Module (ELM) for real-world projects.

What credential will I receive after completion of the Fellowship?

Upon successful completion of the Young India Fellowship, you will be awarded a Post-Graduate Diploma in Interdisciplinary Studies from Ashoka University.

Who is eligible to apply for the Young India Fellowship?

Candidates with a recognised undergraduate degree in any discipline (or equivalent) are eligible to apply, making it a truly multidisciplinary programme. Final-year undergraduate students are also welcome. Work experience is an advantage but not mandatory.

If her life had a background score, it would be Indian classical fusion— rooted yet experimental. A graduate of Lady Shri Ram College and Delhi School of Economics, Shambhavi subsequently taught sociology to high school students and has spent five years making learning meaningful and engaging. Shambhavi approaches the world creatively, as expressed in her work, writing, and hobbies. As an Odissi dancer and Dance Movement Therapy facilitator, she feels deeply connected to movement. Curious about learning new perspectives and skills from her cohort and professors, she is dedicated to finding new avenues to explore her love for education.
