Umar grew up in Kashmir, believing that showing up is the most important thing a person can do. He was only fourteen when he started Noor-ul-Kitaab, a grassroots initiative integrating literacy, numeracy, climate education, and the Skills Builder Universal Framework in underserved communities. He graduated in biotechnology and has diverse interests and experiences in entrepreneurship, education, health, climate, urban policy, storytelling, and peacebuilding. When he’s not building something, he’s reading, writing, or adding to his numismatic collection. The quality he embodies most strongly is the energy to use one’s talents to the full. For him, it signifies making the maximum of his talents as well as those of others around him.
