Debeshi Mandal

Debeshi completed her graduate and postgraduate degrees in English from Jadavpur University and worked in corporate communications for some time after that. Her primary academic interests include gender and sexuality studies, popular culture, fandom studies, East Asian literature, and fashion history. She is interested in art, regularly indulging in sketching, painting, and various forms of art journaling that combine her love for drawing, writing, calligraphy, and collage making. Debeshi wishes to make academic spaces more inclusive by taking intersectionality from theory to practice and encouraging discourse about gender, caste, and class in all spheres of life.
