Akshaya completed her B.A. from Nizam College, Hyderabad, with a combination of Political Science, Public Administration, and History. Driven by a deep interest in governance and social development, she went on to pursue a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Governance from Azim Premji University, Bengaluru. Following her master’s, she joined APMAS as a Livelihood Specialist, where she worked on the Public-Private People Partnership (P4) initiative, a poverty alleviation project in Andhra Pradesh focused on the holistic and sustainable development of the identified poorest of the poor. Beyond her professional interests, Akshaya is someone who finds joy in creative expression. She loves dancing, singing, and painting. She enjoys travelling and exploring different cultures, connecting with people from diverse backgrounds. She loves engaging in conversations that help her understand people’s experiences and perspectives deeply. Through the Young India Fellowship, she hopes to develop the ability to continue learning beyond disciplinary boundaries and become more conscious and critical about the way she questions ideas and systems.
