Akshay Vitthalrao Burnase

Akshay Burnase is a first-generation learner from a small village in Maharashtra. He comes from a low-income farming family and had to travel distances to attend school because there was no school nearby. These experiences made him strongly believe in social justice and public education. He completed his BA from Fergusson College, Pune, and has recently completed his MA in Education at Azim Premji University. He also has experience teaching Social Science in a tribal school. Through the Young India Fellowship, he hopes to learn from diverse peers, improve his thinking skills, and help build an inclusive Indian education system.
