Abhishek Sharma trained as an Electronics and Telecommunications Engineer before taking an unconventional path into development. Driven by a desire to understand whether technology can meaningfully improve lives, he joined the SBI Youth for India Fellowship and, through a placement at Barefoot College, Tilonia, spent over a year working alongside women solar engineers in rural India. The experience showed him that technology is truly transformative only when communities make it their own. He currently works on climate-smart livelihood initiatives with women’s collectives, focusing on renewable energy and value addition. He aspires to contribute to climate action and sustainability through systems leadership and large-scale impact.
