What are the key components of the Young India Fellowship?

The YIF is designed to provide a well-rounded, holistic learning experience. Its core elements include Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary Courses across diverse fields, Critical Inquiry and Expression (CIE) to hone analytical skills, and an Immersive Experiential Learning Module (ELM) for real-world projects.

What credential will I receive after completion of the Fellowship?

Upon successful completion of the Young India Fellowship, you will be awarded a Post-Graduate Diploma in Interdisciplinary Studies from Ashoka University.

Who is eligible to apply for the Young India Fellowship?

Candidates with a recognised undergraduate degree in any discipline (or equivalent) are eligible to apply, making it a truly multidisciplinary programme. Final-year undergraduate students are also welcome. Work experience is an advantage but not mandatory.

Luxman Kumar Rai is a professional Ultimate Frisbee player who has represented India at the World Ultimate Championship. He has worked across coaching and operations at Y-Ultimate. He also worked at Decathlon for a year and contributed as a translator for gender equality modules with Transformational Sports. Through coaching, he has impacted more than 500 underprivileged children and has hosted over 25 tournaments so far. He aims to use Ultimate Frisbee as a tool to empower underserved communities, build life skills, and create inclusive opportunities for youth development. He strongly believes in the “pay it forward” model.
