Janhavi is a mental health practitioner from St. Xavier’s, Mumbai, with a degree in Psychology and a diploma in Expressive Arts Therapy. Her approach to therapeutic practice concerns establishing a mind-body connection while acknowledging one’s intersectional positionality. A performer at heart, Janhavi is a Bharatnatyam dancer, theatre artist, and poet. Her interest in the sectors of social development and education has led her to work with numerous NGOs to provide holistic education to children. She aims to further expand the nascent and dynamic intersection of mental health literacy and intersectional social development through her professional and academic ventures. Janhavi aims to garner an interdisciplinary perspective on the fields of social development, education, performing arts and mental health, through her time at the YIF. She seeks to deepen her research interests while developing ways of communicating and explicating the same.
