Siddharth is driven by telling stories about individuals and societies alike. His debut novel on the construction of the Big Temple in Thanjavur marries his interests in history and storytelling. At IIT Madras, Siddharth developed an interest in anthropology, culminating in ethnographic research about the relationship between wedding photography, caste, and gender. Siddharth is also a trained Carnatic vocal musician and is committed to equity and inclusion in the Carnatic music world. Siddharth is also an avid pun-maker, quizzer, and scrabble player, and has needlessly strong opinions about food. Siddharth hopes that the YIF’s ELM and Critical Writing programme will ground his thinking and improve his writing, contributing to his dream of being an academic with a meaningful public presence.
