Surya is a Development Professional passionate about Equity, Inclusion, and Systemic change. Despite personal challenges early in life, he has consistently pursued purpose and progress. Currently, he works as a Research associate at an NGO, focusing on policy advocacy and community-led solutions addressing multi dimensional poverty—especially in the areas of education, mental health, and livelihoods. Surya is also a musician and an active member of on the streets of Chennai (a local music community based in Chennai), where he plays guitar and keys. His journey reflects resilience, creativity, and commitment to social justice. Through YIF, Surya hopes to learn from leading thinkers, build meaningful connections, and deepen his understanding of contemporary developmental challenges and learn diverse approaches to address systemic issues in India.
