Ritoban is an aspiring researcher in the field of Subaltern studies and allied theories. His deep passion for uncovering the artistic potential of the marginalized in society stems from his rural upbringing and, lately, the time spent documenting and observing poverty at the ghats of Banaras. He remains interested in connecting the transcultural and transnational commonalities of the Subaltern and how it is expressed in the various folk art forms. A religious football fan and a classical musician, he strives to find the balance between the tribalism of sports and the harmony of music. He is also an occasional poet who writes for the private fulfilment of his soul. The guilty pleasures include opinionated discussions on the state of modern politics over multiple cups of tea.
