I hail from the enchanting pink city of Jaipur, and my transformative journey began when I discovered Ashoka University. Delving into the ethos of Ashoka, I found myself captivated by its curriculum and the remarkable diversity that defines the university – from its eclectic student body and faculty to the multidisciplinary approach fostering uninhibited learning. However, a significant hurdle loomed before me: the cost. Despite my parents’ unwavering support, the expenses associated with Ashoka University were beyond our means. Thankfully, the Ashoka University Office of Financial Aid stepped in, saving me from the burden of a loan and allowing me the freedom to take professional risks during my undergraduate classes.
Beyond the confines of my courses, Ashoka instilled in me the art of questioning the world around me and fostering independent thinking. This invaluable skill extends beyond any specific field or career, empowering me to navigate diverse situations and continually evolve into a better version of myself.
My academic journey at Ashoka has led me to pursue a major in Computer Science, complemented by minors in Mathematics and Entrepreneurial Leadership. The exceptional faculty in the computer science department and their engaging teaching style solidified my decision to choose CS as my major. Furthermore, the opportunity to explore various courses and fields through entrepreneurship has played a pivotal role in shaping my academic path. The Study Abroad program at Ashoka opened doors to international exposure, leading me to participate in the Hatchery Program – a six-week boot camp at Lehigh University, US.
Ashoka’s distinctive curriculum provided me with the platform to blend my passion with various fields, contributing significantly to my personal growth. Every class at Ashoka is not just a lesson; it is an experience! Additionally, working with professors on the research projects enriched my academic journey with hands-on experience. Yet, it was not solely about academics; Ashoka’s vibrant community, encompassing clubs, societies, and its people, rendered my time here both fulfilling and enriching. For those contemplating Ashoka, please do not let financial concerns dissuade you.
