Ashoka University’s undergraduate course curriculum is taught across three semesters: Spring, Summer and Monsoon (Fall). Courses are broadly divided into three categories – Foundation Courses (core curriculum), Major & Minor Courses and Co-Curricular Courses.

This is a 300-level research-focused elective course. The main objective of this course is to introduce you to cutting-edge research in behavioral economics. In the first part of the course, we will explore how preferences (risk, time, and social preference) differ from what is typically assumed in the Neoclassical literature. In the second half of the course, we will look into cognitive economics, i.e., how cognitive constraints affect decision making. We will discuss both experimental findings and theoretical modeling in both cases. The goal of the course is to help students generate research ideas in behavioral economics. In the last 2 weeks, the students will be expected to present their research ideas in class.
