Ashoka University’s undergraduate course curriculum is taught across three semesters: Spring, Summer and Monsoon (Fall). Courses are broadly divided into three categories – Foundation Courses (core curriculum), Major & Minor Courses and Co-Curricular Courses.

Economic theories can often be tested empirically with human subjects using an “experiment” – a carefully controlled environment in a laboratory or the field. This course will introduce you to the major themes and motivations of modern experimental economics and provide a strong foundation in experimental design, implementation, and methodology. We will cover a wide variety of experiments in economics, starting with "laboratory" experiments of popular games and decision problems borrowed from game theory, decision theory, and behavioral economics, often conducted with student populations in universities. We will also discuss "field" experiments used to study discrimination, labor markets, and other issues in both developed and developing countries. We will train you with the latest software for programming and implementing experiments in multiple formats: in-person and online, with student and non-student populations. As the final component of the course, you will propose, design, and program your own experiment to test a novel research question.
