Ashoka University’s undergraduate course curriculum is taught across three semesters: Spring, Summer and Monsoon (Fall). Courses are broadly divided into three categories – Foundation Courses (core curriculum), Major & Minor Courses and Co-Curricular Courses.

Econometric Applications: Household, Individual Behavior and Gender

The aim of this course is to cover topics on decision making within the household and how individuals influence and in turn react to these decisions; with a focus on how these impact women and girls. Broad topics to be covered include intra-household bargaining, marriage markets including evolution of marriage market payments and marriage dissolution, fertility decisions, investments in human capital (health, education and skills) in children, as well as how larger political economy considerations and environmental shocks impact intra-household decision making and women’s welfare.
