The two fundamental concepts of analysis are continuity and convergence. Some idea of these has been formed in a earlier course on Calculus. The aim of this course is to take that understanding further and to make it deeper.
We will study:
a) construction of real numbers
b) sequences and series of real numbers and their convergence
c) ccontinuity, uniform continuity, differentiability, Riemann and Riemann-Stieltjes integrals
d) sequences and series of functions, their convergence and unifom convergence; power seriese
e) elementary functions like trigonometric, hyperbolic, exponential funcions
f) basic ideas of approximation
