Jairam Ramesh is presently a Member of Parliament and Chairman of Parliament's Standing Committee on Science & Technology, Environment, Forests & Climate Change. He has been a Union Minister during 2006-14 and held several portfolios including that of Rural Development and Environment and Forests. He is also  the author of several well known books.

Suman Sahai is founder Chairperson of Gene Campaign, a leading research and advocacy organization, working on issues relating to food, nutrition and livelihoods. She is a recipient of the Padma Shri, the Borlaug Award, the Outstanding Woman Achiever award, the Birbal Sahni Gold Medal and the Order of the Golden Ark. She chaired India’s Planning Commission Task Force on ‘Agro biodiversity and Genetically Engineered Organisms’, for the XIth Plan, and was a member of the Steering Committee of the National Biodiversity Board, the Expert Committee on Biotechnology Policy, and the Bioethics Committee of the Indian Council of Medical Research. She holds a PhD from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute and has had a distinguished scientific career in genetics.

L. S. Shashidhara is a Professor of Biology at Ashoka University. He has served as Vice-President of the Indian National Science Academy (INSA) and is currently the President of the International Union of Biological Sciences (IUBS). He is serving/has served as a member of various national and international committees on S&T Policy.

Aniket Aga is an Associate Professor of Environmental Studies at Ashoka University and Krea University.
