This session will explore new trends in the research and historiographical debates about India- India-Pakistan relations by comparing the perspectives of three authors of recent books on the subject. The panel will discuss the changes that have taken place in this field in recent years; why new interdisciplinary and revisionist perspectives are necessary for its development; the reasons for the widespread public interest across the subcontinent about the state of bilateral relations; and predictions about its future. The session shall be informal and interactive, prioritising student inputs, and is an opportunity to engage in a wide-ranging conversation about the history and politics of the South Asian region.
