Title of the talk: Power of "Why?" Curiosity at Work
Abstract: Our childhood stories are filled with curious kids exploring. But as we grow older, that spark of asking “why” slips away. In this talk – we will spend time exploring puzzling phenomena’s from the biology of deep sea creatures to protist from swamps. From the smallest scale, we will explore how microbial communities control planet scale climate. I will share a few examples where curiosity led to new frugal inventions of tools from malaria diagnostics to ecological tracking of mosquitoes. We will finally discuss how to practice and nurture your own sense of curiosity in science.
