The fifth and final session for the CWC’s E&E Online Seminar Series will be led by Dr. Anurima Chanda, Assistant Professor at the Department of English, Birsa Munda College, Darjeeling. The demonstration will explore teaching as an iterative process in which pedagogical understanding is shaped through practice rather than simply implemented from pre-existing models. About the speaker:

Dr. Anurima Chanda is an Assistant Professor in the English Department at Birsa Munda College, University of North Bengal. She has completed her PhD on Indian English Children's Literature from Jawaharlal Nehru University. She was a Charles Wallace 24-25 Visiting Fellow at the University of Edinburgh, a SUSI 2023 Fellow at the University of Montana, and a pre-doctoral DAAD fellow at the University of Würzburg. Dr. Chanda is an academic, translator, and children’s author with research interests in Indian English children’s literature, Dalit studies, and translation. Her notable recent publications include translations of Kalyani Thakur Charal’s Chandalinir Bibriti titled A Chandalini Speaks (Orient BlackSwan, 2026) and Manoranjan Byapari’s Itibrittye Chandal Jibon titled How I Became a Writer: An Autobiography of a Dalit (Stree Samya and Sage, 2022), as well as chapters in the edited volumes Female Body Image and Beauty Politics in Contemporary Indian Literature and Culture (Temple University Press, 2024) and Articulating Childhood Trauma: In the Context of War, Sexual Abuse and Disability (Routledge, 2024).
