The lecture will offer an introduction to Ukraine through the historical, cultural and political developments that have shaped the country, its national identity and its place in Europe and the wider world. It will explore Ukraine’s cultural heritage, the evolution of its statehood and the historical experiences that continue to influence Ukrainian society today.

The Ambassador will also focus on contemporary Ukraine and the resilience of its people and institutions in defending the country’s sovereignty and independence in the war with Russia. Particular attention will be given to Ukraine’s vision for its future and the transformation of the country.

The lecture will also address Ukraine–India relations, their current state and prospects for further cooperation, including in education, culture and people-to-people ties.
