The Department of Visual Arts & Department of Media Studies jointly welcomes you to the Monsoon Semester's VA Colloquium, on "Time and Space, Text and Image, Personal and Public, Artist and Audience" by Professor Orijit Sen, Graphic artist & Cartoonist on Tuesday 10 October 2022 from 3:30 pm to 4:45 pm (IST) at AC04 310 (LR).

Abstract:  As a visual artist and social documentarian, Prof Orijit Sen has had an abiding interest in the interplay of apparently dichotomous, divergent and contradictory elements such as the ones listed in the title of this presentation.

In this colloquium, through a presentation of his practise in comics, murals, exhibitions, he will reflect on the divergent media forms and how these forms have continuously
informed his visions of a changing world, as well as shaped his graphic satire and artistic processes.

In 1990, he co-founded People Tree—a collaborative studio and store for artists, designers and craftspeople.
