#GraduateStories: Reflection on My Ashoka University Journey
Ajit D is a part of the graduating batch of the Master of Science Programme this year
“My time at Ashoka University has been a journey filled with ups and downs, but I embrace it all as part of my learning process. It has been a period of exploration and personal growth, where I have not only delved into my passions but also confronted my strengths and weaknesses.
As a master’s student, I have been entrusted with responsibilities that have shaped me into a more independent individual. This transition from dependency to self-reliance has been a defining aspect of my Ashokan experience. The university’s approach to education goes beyond the traditional classroom setup, encouraging students to explore and learn autonomously. Instead of spoon-feeding information, faculties introduce broader ideas, fostering discussions, presentations, and group projects that facilitate collaborative learning. This approach has empowered me to become a more confident, mature, and responsible person, capable of assessing my skills and capabilities.
One significant lesson I gleaned from my peers and faculty at Ashoka is the value of interdisciplinary collaboration and perspective. By engaging with individuals from diverse academic backgrounds, I learned to approach complex problems from multiple angles, leading to more comprehensive and innovative solutions. This insight has reinforced my belief in the power of collaboration and inspired me to seek out interdisciplinary opportunities in my future endeavors. To the incoming students joining Ashoka University, I encourage you to seize the abundance of opportunities awaiting you. It’s natural to feel uncertain about your direction; however, Ashoka offers a supportive atmosphere conducive to both academic and personal exploration. Dedicate time to connecting with peers, participating in clubs and organizations, and seeking internships that enable you to uncover your passions and talents. Throughout your time here, embrace the chance to fully immerse yourself in the diverse offerings of Ashoka and make the most of your experience.”
