Aakanksha Saraf

YIF Class of 2023

BA Honours (Philosophy) and Diploma in Conflict Transformation and Peacebuilding
Lady Shri Ram College for Women

Aakanksha is an avid traveller, explorer and reader. She has previously worked with think tanks and is passionate about sustainability and ethics. She has a UG degree in Philosophy and a postgraduate diploma in Conflict Transformation and Peace Building. Often finding herself at the extreme ends of the spectrum, Aakanksha is trying to figure the ‘grey’ out. She is ever ready to set out on solo backpacking adventures on her days off. Driven by the works of Maya Angelou, Peter Singer, and Isaiah Berlin, Aakanksha seeks to challenge anthropocentrism and structural conflict. She enjoys writing whilst sipping her cup of hibiscus tea and occasionally soiling her hands whilst indulging in pottery. Wanting to dive deeper into sustainability research and conservation, she hopes the YIF can enable her to explore further. At the YIF, Aakanksha seeks an intellectually stimulating environment where she can engage in meaningful and thought-provoking discourse through the varied academic courses offered and her peers.
