Abhishek Khetan graduated with a dual degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur in 2014. Despite his undergraduate major in engineering, he pursued his interest in mathematics by joining the MSc programme at the Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI), from which he graduated in April 2016.

He subsequently joined TIFR Mumbai as a PhD student and obtained his doctorate in 2021 under the supervision of Prof. Mahan Mj. Following his PhD, Dr. Khetan held two postdoctoral positions, first at TIFR CAM (Bangalore) and then at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). His primary research interests lie in combinatorics and tilings.
