Aishwarya Mall

YIF Class of 2021

B.A. Sociology
Lady Shri Ram College for Women, University of Delhi

Aishwarya Mall is an avid reader and intent listener. With a passion for baking and an insatiable love for animals, she is always ready for adventure. However, what truly kindles Aishwarya’s spirit are the people around her. Her passion to understand how individuals interact with one another and form relations with one another fostered her keen interest in sociology.

Aishwarya has spent the last two years exploring her interest in public health and working in the social impact sector. She found herself spearheading pan-India projects advocating for equitable health rights and gender equality through her involvement with various non-profit organisations.

The desire to learn more and explore oneself through exposure to a wide range of academic subjects brings Aishwarya to the Young India Fellowship. She is looking forward to having stirring conversations around movies, politics, art and governance with the cohort over a cup of chai. She believes that each individual has the potential to work towards a more just and compassionate world that keeps the value of human experience at the core of its workings. In the future, Aishwarya wishes to work on reshaping and formulating evidence-driven citizen-centric social policies in the gender, health and education space.
