In the course of his UPSC preparations, Amartya realized that there are many significant things that he was never exposed to during his academic and professional career. Through YIF he seeks to explore unknown areas that otherwise he would have been deprived of for the rest of his life. He loves reading on a wide range of topics. He is an aesthete, a singer, and a guitarist. He strongly believes in strengthening organizations and individual capacity building for social development. His inspiration comes from lines of poet Ramdhari Singh ‘Dinkar’ – सन्धि-वचन संपूज्य उसी का जिसमें शक्ति विजय की (Translation: successful negotiations can be carried out by only those who are fully capable of winning).
