Amrita completed her undergraduate degree, majoring in journalism, psychology and english studies. Her education allowed her to question her privileged upbringing and opened the space for discourse. She found that education empowers individuals to articulate their realities and challenge existing power structures. Her areas of interest primarily lie in gender, sexuality and education policy. She believed that she was a reluctant leader throughout various positions she has occupied but she has come to redefine them to accommodate her own strengths and values.
On a journey to find newer mediums to creatively express herself, she has found a space to call her own in avenues such as music—vocals and her harmonica, prose and occasionally poetry.
