Anirudh Raghavan

Anirudh’s research interests lie in the anthropology of finance, speculation and late capitalism. He works on tracing the transformations of space, technology, morals and social relations wrought by financial markets and their associated practices such as investment, trading, speculation and saving. His project studies the retail investing boom among the urban middle classes India with the emergence of fin-tech broking platforms, market analytics tools and a vast economy of financial influencers and educators on social media. He attempts to study how middle class professionals and households are reimagining their relationship to money, risk and the future.
