Ankita Mathew

YIF Class of 2021

B.E Electronics and Communications
Government Model Engineering College, Cochin University of Science and Technology

A woman of many things, Ankita is a woman with a big smile and a leader every step of the way. A person who is able to push herself in every difficult situation, she is truly a fighter. She enjoys stepping up, being a leader, and organising events from the scratch to finish. She loves talking, and can strike up a conversation about almost everything.

An engineer by profession, college moulded her interests and led her to explore a number of subjects. She dabbled in event management and involved herself with volunteering and fundraising with Make A Difference (MAD). She is a trained pianist and singer, and has sung with a number of choirs and bands across South India. After college, she went on to join the consulting world of Deloitte, where she worked with implementing Workday for global clients. After around two years of working in the corporate world, the need to explore something more, led her to the Young India Fellowship (YIF).

She hopes to get the world to smile a lot more (just the way she does), learn to critique art, complement her arguments, expand her worldview, and add some reasoning to her overthinking at the YIF. She believes that YIF will be the perfect platform for her to explore the enriching environment that Ashoka University has to offer, surrounded by a set of like-minded dreamers and thinkers.
