In her college days, Anupama was active in multiple domains of academic and co-curricular activities and often faced great difficulty in narrowing down her interests and career path. The traditional system of education did not appeal to her much as she has been curious to know beyond the curriculum.
She was born and brought up in Payyanur, Kerala. Being a person interested in literature, cultural studies, film, media, design, and performing art,s she was in search of a space where she can explore and enrich her knowledge and skills. There she came across the Young India Fellowship. She considers the opportunity to be a Young India Fellow is one of the best things that has happened in her life.
Growing up with people from diverse socio-economic regional and cultural backgrounds at various stages of life, she always stands for equality and social justice. She believes that it is her responsibility to utilise the resources and educational opportunities available for her at the moment and contribute significantly to society.
