Arijit Bhattacharya is a Ph.D. student in Cognitive Neuroscience at the Department of Psychology, Ashoka University. His research interest lies in the realm of music cognition, dementia, memory, emotion and neuroimaging. He is currently working at the MBBS Lab under the supervision of Professor Dipanjan Ray and the co-supervision of Dr. Suvarna Alladi (Cognitive Neurology Lab, NIMHANS). He graduated with a degree in Bachelors of Technology and Masters of Technology in Biotechnology from the School of Biotechnology, KIIT Deemed to be University. He has also completed a one year online neuroscience program from The Harvard University. Before joining the Ph.D. program at Ashoka, he pursued training in cognitive neurology from the Department of Neurology, National Institute Of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS). He is also a music therapist and member of The Indian Music Therapy Association. Arijit is a Sitar Player and a disciple of Sitar Maestro Pt. Purbayan Chatterjee. He has won several national-level awards at different competitions and concerts. He can play flute as well and loves exploring different musical instruments. Arijit is a public speaker and science communicator, working towards creating awareness for different neurological conditions and mental health concerns.
