Bhasker Malu is an Assistant Professor at Masters Union School of Business. He has been awarded research grants from prestigious international organisations such as The Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPS) and the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI). His doctoral research focused on understanding the regional nature of racial discrimination in India using the social identity lens. He has published multiple peer-reviewed papers in domains of racial discrimination, social identity, educational psychology, and emotion recognition. His current areas of interest include understanding racial discrimination in India, given its complex intergroup and political dynamics; populism; social psychology of arts and aesthetics, and open science practices. He has published a textbook titled ‘Multidisciplinary Perspectives on Social Cognition’ with Routledge/Taylor & Francis, two psychology exam preparation books and two fiction novels. Apart from his academic interests, he has also sought to democratize access to psychological knowledge by developing two mobile applications that provide notes, practice tests, and videos to help individuals learn about psychology. He is also a TEDx speaker.
